Hearing Aids is one the most important thin to a person who is experiencing hearing loss or hearing impairment. There are many different types of hearing aids. There are digital ones or the standard hearing aids that have long stood the test of time.

One type of hearing aid would be the Behind the ear aids or BTE. These are small hearing aids that wrap wound the back of the ear and fits into the ear by being custom made. The sound is absorbed and converted into sounds or talking. The behind the ear aids are great for people who have a mild to intermediate case of hearing loss. This type of device is great fro children because they will stay on the ear as kids play and they are durable.

Another great thing about the behind the ear device is that it can be connected to a assitive listening device that classroom will be equipped with if their students require a hearing aid. In recent years, through many modifications, the behind the ear aids have been made smaller so they are barely noticeable.

Another type of hearing aid is the in the ear aid or ITE. This hearing aid fits in the outer part of the ear that is medically called the concha. They can be visible but not necessarily. These types of aids are good fro mild and in some cases severe hearing damage, depending on the extent of the damage. Sometimes the device will provide some feedback through the aid, the feedback would be a high pitch hum that escapes through the device itself.

In the ear devices are not intended for children because when a child gets fitted for the hearing aid it is formed to their ears, but a child is still growing and will have to have many hearing aids made for them. There are different types being tried out, fro example the in the ear aids may be made from silicone and that may prevent the need to constant replacement due to the growth of the child.
